Regarding Her (RE:Her) is a charitable organization for female-owned restaurants in Los Angeles, created amidst the COVID-19 pandemic by women who own restaurants in LA. RE:Her is kicking off with an amazing 10-day culinary festival (Jan 21 - 30) full of delicious takeaway, meal kits, collabs and virtual experiences that celebrate the incredible women in food and beverage all across Los Angeles County.

Girls Got Taste with Gasolina Cafe & Valerie Confections

Friday, January 22 and Saturday, January 23 from 1 to 7pm

Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger of Socalo, Sandra Cordero of Gasolina Cafe, and Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections are collaborating to bring you a one of kind meal that highlights Southern California ingredients by way of Spain, Mexico and California across three courses available for takeout from Woodland Hills and Santa Monica! Stay safely in YOUR neighborhood and get tastes from all over LA. $46 per person.

Kim Prince is bringing her Nashville hot chicken TaHOTcos and TaHOTquitos to Socalo. If you’ve never heard about Nashville-style hot chicken, it’s certainly time to get familiar. Hot chicken not only brings the heat, but also is cooked to perfection with secret spices that have been passed down with care from generation-to-generation.

Alice’s Southern Comfort Gumbo Pop-Up

Kimberly Velazco, chef and owner of Alice’s Southern Comfort, is popping up at Socalo with her savory filé gumbos and comforting southern dishes made with the same love and care her grandmother Alice was known for in Lettsworth, Louisiana.

Enjoy a 4-course takeout menu created by Socalo chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger and wines from Baja, Mexico’s most exciting wine region, while tuning in to a virtual conversation with the chefs and expert winemakers Lulu Martinez Ojeda of Bruma and Monica Magoni of Bodegas Magoni. $80 per person, two person minimum.
